ISBN 9780730898962 (CD-ROM).
(Also see: PDF version of the accompanying manual.)
The Queer Corner model is an email-based information sharing and awareness-raising tool for use within health and community service organisations. The program aims to improve workers’ knowledge and understanding of the health/welfare issues and barriers facing Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, and Same-Sex Attracted (GLBITQS) communities, who often face considerable barriers in accessing health and community services due to real and perceived homophobia and heterosexism in workplaces. The program helps workers to reflect on their attitudes concerning GLBTIQS communities. The model also helps encourage workers to identify ways to remove barriers and improve access for GLBTIQS communities to health and community services. Queer Corner is an ongoing project within Western Primary Health Care Services (Central Northern Adelaide Health Service), and a manual and a CD-Rom have been produced. The manual contains information to help plan, implement and evaluate Queer Corner within an organisation, including a description of the factors that may either help or impede this process. The program can be found on SA Health Online Library website, at https://www.library.health.sa.gov.au/
