Australian Youth Affairs Coalition (AYAC)

AYAC is Australia's non-government youth affairs peak body, representing the rights and interests of young people and the sector that supports them. AYAC was funded in 2009 by the Australian Government (through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations).

In 1999, the government had defunded previous peak body, the Australian Youth Policy and Action Coalition (AYPAC). In 2002, state and territory youth affairs peaks and a number of national youth sector organisations established AYAC, which was managed from 2002 to 2009 by an elected executive committee of volunteers.
